Draft Gore: It's Showtime! (with THE poll)
Tue Oct 16, 2007 at 07:15:10 PM PDT
Tomorrow in Chicago, Al Gore will make his first public appearance since his press conference regarding the Nobel Peace Prize last Friday. Al will be speaking before the Economic Club of Chicago. I really don't know much about this organization but when he arrives at the hotel where it's being held, he will be met by a Draft Gore rally.
The Draft Gore movement has taken on a life of it's own in the last week. The truth is we are big enough to be talked about. And Al Gore has heard us.
We don't know what he's thinking. We don't know which way he's leaning. But we do know that he heard us. And, frankly, if someone was trying to draft ME, I'd keep up on what they're doing. Oh yes, Al Gore is aware that there is a Draft Gore movement afoot all across this nation and he knows what we are up to. Not only has he not told us to stop... he released three videos of himself speaking frankly about the issues on current.com.
It's time to take the Draft Gore movement to the next level. It's time to build the buzz. It's SHOWTIME!

-- draw the curtains please --
Taking the Draft Gore movement to the next level isn't a lot of work. It can be as simple as talking about Al Gore with coworkers at the copy machine. It's talking about it at the bar on Friday. Or on the phone with your mom this weekend. It's that simple. The people you talk to may talk to others.
But here are some specific things you can do tonight to take the Draft Gore movement higher and higher!
Make the Current.com videos VIRAL!
As many of you know, Al Gore released three videos on Monday morning with the launch of current.com. You can watch the three videos here:
http://current.com/...
These videos are all over youtube right now as well. They were circulated in my office today (I had nothing to do with it). Keep in mind they were just posted yesterday. Keep spreading the word. Forward these videos to your friends and family whether it be a link to current.com or just the youtube videos.
People still sitting on the fence really want an excuse to back him. This is it.
Organize!
The Draft Gore movement is the foundation of Al Gore's campaign. Volunteer lists, donor lists, email lists are all piling up with local organizations.
Find your local meetup and, if there isn't one, start one.
Write a Letter to the Editor!
The press likes the Al Gore story and I'm sure your local newspaper would love to hear why you want Al Gore to run for President. (And you'd be surprised how these things show up on newsfeeds and google news.)
The Two Cents campaign is going strong!
Take two pennies and drop them in an envelope. Address that envelope to:
Office of the Honorable Al Gore
2100 West End Avenue, Suite 620
Nashville, TN 37203
Stamp. Voila. If you've already sent two cents, send two more. Send some on behalf of your friends who are quiet supporters.
We got a whole news cycle and we can get another! The Gore news has slowed down today a little but you can bet it will pick up again soon. I read somewhere tonight that draftgore.com is commissioning a poll.
We are showing Al Gore that we are serious. The Draft Gore movement is a bonafide grassroots and netroots organization of Democrats, many of whom have never done this before, who believe our current candidates can't meet the historic challenges that our next President will face.
We're going full steam ahead until Al Gore tells us to stop! (And here's looking forward to the Chicago event tomorrow night!)

And noooooooooooow, for the definitive poll...
